Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, please keep your hands and feet inside the cart
at all times and wait for the ride to finish before standing up.
The next few weeks are going to be noisy, smelly, messy, dirty, and loud.

But, let’s not lose sight of the fact that you’re building a pool in your backyard……
How cool is that!
(PS. We hope you like mariachi music)
So, this is it, the day you’ve all been waiting for. Our crew will arrive first thing in the morning to begin work. Before we start we will mark the pool out on the ground and set the forms, we need at least one of you (preferably both) to be present, so you can check the final layout before we start digging. At this point we can still adjust the dimensions of the pool slightly if necessary, once the pool has been excavated it’s super difficult (not impossible) to make any changes, so you need to make sure you’re 100% happy with the size and location.
We aim to complete most pool excavations in one day.
Usually the day after excavation is completed, our team of experts will install the steel rebar as per the engineering plan. We use #3 and #4 rebar to ensure the structural integrity of the pool. (Nobody wants a leaky swimming pool, not you, and definitely not us.)
This will normally take one day.
One of our plumbing crews will install all the plumbing and electrical systems, in most cases they will set the pool equipment during this visit as well. Where possible we will use sweep fittings, this will increase the waterflow meaning your pump won’t be working as hard. Once all the pipework has been installed, the system is pressurized and checked for any leaks.
This section will take two to three days.
We will schedule your first inspection with the relevant authority, one of our team will meet the inspector onsite to ensure it goes smoothly. We aim to get the inspector there the day after the plumbing is finished.
This is when your hole in the ground starts to look like a pool. Our concrete team will “shoot” the pool with the concrete mixture at 4600 psi. These guys start early, so if you can make sure the cars are off the driveway and the road outside the house is clear the night before.
This process will be completed in one day.
Once the plumbers have finished your back yard will look like you’ve got a giant gopher infestation. We need to leave the trenches open for the inspector to check the pipework, once the shotcrete team are clear, we will send one of our hardscape crews to backfill the trenches, install the bonding grid, and grade any sections of the yard where we’re laying a deck.
This usually takes one day.
Our expert team of craftsmen will install whichever masonry products you have chosen for the pool. We only use the highest quality materials, and every surface is waterproofed prior to the finish being installed.
This usually takes two to three days.
This is the second of your four inspections. The inspector is checking to see that the pool has been properly earthed to the bonding grid.
Our hardscape team will arrive back on site and install the new drainage system. Then they will lay whichever deck you’ve decided to use.
This usually takes three to four days depending on which materials you’ve chosen.
One of our electricians will come and install the pool lights and hook up the automation system.
This will take one day.
For this inspection one of you needs to be at home, as the inspector needs to come inside the house to check the pool safety features have been installed correctly.
Ok, we’re nearly done, you’re nearly swimming. This is last main stage in the construction process, whether you choose plaster or pebble as your interior finish our crews will make sure it’s installed flawlessly. Once this has been completed we will fill the pool with water, most water companies offer a discount if you inform them you’re going to be filling a pool prior to us doing it.
This will take one day.
Our engineer will arrive the day after the pool has been filled with water. During this visit we will program and start up the pool equipment, complete the initial chemical balance of the pool, and most importantly show you how to operate everything.
This is the last inspection, the inspector is checking that everything is operating as it should and in a safe manner. In the cities that require splash alarms, he will also be checking they’ve been installed properly.
So, in around six weeks from start to finish you’ve got yourselves a pool. Prior to us shaking hands for the last time, one of our team will conduct a final site inspection to make sure everything is clean and tidy.
