the CONCEPT
The Mission
The rain was literally bouncing down when I first met this couple in the fall of 2023. The homeowners are both retired veterans, and made it clear from day one that they had high expectations.
Their design brief was pretty straightforward, they wanted a low maintenance back yard for their kids and grandkids to enjoy.
The Details
To achieve this we used a mixture of concrete and artificial turf, which allowed the yard to maintain a “natural” aspect, whilst reducing the maintenance required.
The yard was sloping quite severely towards the house, so we included a raised pool wall at the rear of the pool to accommodate the step down in elevation.
The Challenge (because there always is one)
The only issue we encountered during the project was that the property line fence collapsed due to the muddy conditions (welcome to pool building in the winter). We rebuilt the fence and installed a new gate for them.
Other than that it was plain sailing, another satisfied customer.
